FAQs
I have played in the last season. Do I need to sign up again or will I automatically be entered?
You will need to sign up again for the next season. There are no automatic entries.
Can I reserve a spot in the league before the sign up window?
Unfortunately not. To ensure every one has an equal chance at securing a spot in the league, there are no exceptions to the sign up window.
What happens if I sign up but the league is already full?
You will be added to the waiting list. Players may have a change in circumstances and no longer be able to play – so teams on the waiting list will take their spot.
Once I have signed up, is my entry confirmed?
Your team’s entry is not confirmed until your partner has also completed their sign up. This is also providing the league has not filled before your team mate has completed their sign up.
Can I join a league if I don’t already have a partner?
If you need a partner, let us know and we can add you to the list of players needing partners and we may be able to match you up. You may have success trying to find your own partner, so we would recommend still searching yourself before signing up.
Can I join more than once, with different partners, in different divisions?
You can, although priority will be given to each player entering once. So, if the league doesn’t fill up then you will be able to enter twice but if it fills then a second entry would be declined.
If I am entering as part of a new team, which division will we be placed in?
You will be placed in the most appropriate division for your level/ability that has spaces. This may be the exactly the right division, or one above or below.
What happens if a team cancel a match or are unable to complete a fixture?
If the match is cancelled within 4 days of the fixture, the team that did not cancel the match have the right to take a walkover. This would be 5 points to their team and 0 points to the team that cancelled. This also applies if a match is cancelled within the last 2 weeks of the season regardless of whether it was cancelled within 4 days of the fixture. The team that did not cancel the match can also decide to try and rearrange the match, but can revert back to taking a walkover if that is not possible at any point.
If there is a ‘no show’, the team that both attended would receive a walkover. They also have the option to try to rearrange the match, but can revert back to taking a walkover if that is not possible at any point.
If a match cannot be scheduled for some reason throughout the season, please get in touch. It may be a walkover to either team or a nil result based on the reasoning and whether equal flexibility and effort has been made to make and rearrange the fixture.
I have completed the sign up form for myself, does my partner also need to do it?
Yes, your partner also needs to complete the sign up form. An entry is required per player.
If I join the league part way through a season (e.g. to replace an injured player), do I need to pay the entry fee?
If there are 50% or more of the fixtures remaining, you will still need to pay the entry fee. If there are less than 50% of the fixtures remaining, then you would not.
How are the Ultimate Ranking Points calculated?
